The Jung Man

(c.) 1996 Matthew W. Pittaway

There was a boy, growing up on a farm, safe from most every harm
Runnin by the stream, climbing in the trees, like you and me

and he grew, learning all the rules, that they taught us in school
Runnin after a dream, called by the wind in the trees, like you and me

The boy grew into a man and he wanted to see where the trees and the stream went to
So he ran away from his home

He heard a piper playin a tune
a rock -n- roll song and he wanted to
follow the crowd and be really cool, but he didn't know he was a fool

before long, his mind was changed by the songs
he found out drugs went along
and so he took the dope too, he was being used by demons from hell

He ran in fear from the voices he'd hear, and he just didn't know what to do
so he ran on back to his home
but emotions run hi in a family scene
and the acid rock songs in his mind were screaming
before too long he lost all control
and the demons inside took over control
the demons inside took over his soul

He looked down, and saw the body there
The blood was more than he could bear
So he ran out into the street, and justice he did meet
When they found him there

You were ridin hi, shook your fist at the sky
you were invincible in your life of fantasy
but the cold steel bars, wouldn't go away
and the golden rule wouldn't stop haunting

Just like gravity, it makes no difference if we do or don't believe
He is right there holding everything
