Apostolic Center for Training and SendingIn the book of Acts, there was a church in Antioch which we read had "...certain prophets and teachers.." it was out of this pool of correctly trained disciples that the Holy Spirit chose Paul and Barnabas to go preach the Gospel to the nations.There are a lot of churches in Nashville, but not many places where a serious disciple can be trained in the gifts and doctrine to the point of being able to win a city or nation to Christ. This is what the men of God in Antioch did that is sorely needed in our day. This is the basic ministry I have been called too. I disciple men, and my wife disciples women. I have been given by Jesus Christ the foundational doctrines of the church as listed in Hebrews 6:1-2. I knew (head knowledge) about these doctrines for a long time and had studied them in depth, but the Lord began to reveal them over the years between 1999 and 2003. This is an apostolic ministry. I have been around the prophetic for 2 decades. The gifts of the Spirit are really very simple and natural. It is my desire not just to teach them in our Western 'classroom' sense, but to facilitate a safe friendly enviromnment where the Spirit has liberty and God's children have liberty to exercise their giftings. It is in the environment of sound doctrinal teaching and liberty for God's gifts to flow that apostles can be trained and sent forth. Leavened doctrine or controlling leaders will quench the Spirit of God and the result will be pharisees making proselytes. We don't need that! What the world needs is men and women of God who can turn the world upside down with the Truth, Love and Power of Christ. That is what ACTS is all about! |
