Have a Heart
The Justin Pittaway story
© 2007 Rev. Matthew William Pittaway
Mary and I struggled emotionally and prayed fervently for our son. When we got to California we found out there was another baby boy born the same day as Justin also needing a heart to live, and even had compatible blood type. Thus the lead “2 Babies competing for a heart”; a heart could be donated if a baby died with a good one and the parents decided to make the hard decision to donate. Then the doctors would have to choose which baby received it. The result would be the other child would die because hearts are only donated about every 4-6 weeks average.
